Email Fourth Grade Teacher
Welcome back!
I am very excited to begin my 28th year of teaching, my 23rd year of teaching at Cumberland Christian School! It is always a privilege for me to be here. This year will be no different. I will be married 38 years this November. My husband Bill and I have two beautiful daughters who have graduated from CCS some time ago. We have three grandchildren: Daniel, Caleb and Madison. Two of our grandchildren attend CCS. The other, Daniel lives in Florida.
My Experience...
As I stated above, I am in my 23rd year of teaching at Cumberland Christian School. In my 28 years of teaching experience, I have had the rare privilege of teaching every grade level. I have often been in awe of where the Lord leads me, and I believe each year has been God-annointed. I have learned, though, that the elementary department is my true home and where I thrive. I graduated, some time ago, from Cumberland County College with my Associates Degree, then from Thomas Edison State College with my Bachelor's Degree. I am New Jersey State certified and ACSI certified. Like my students who enjoy learning, I enjoy investigating new teaching techniques and I enjoy studying and applying new teaching strategies in the classroom.
My Mission...
I absolutely LOVE to read, quilt, work on crafts and, most of all, spend time with my grandchildren. I am excited to share a love of learning and exploring with my students. I enjoy opening their world to other horizons beyond their own surroundings. I also desire to see that students experience growth, confidence and achievement in all of their subject areas. I will encourage them to be faithful and consistent in all that they set their hand to. They must complete the tasks set before them and they should always do their work neatly and give each assignment their best effort and attention.
As their teacher I will challenge myself to live according to James 3:17-18 which states, "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocricy. And full of righteousness is sown in peace..."
The school motto is "reaching the mind, the heart and the hands...for Christ." I will encourage each student to live according to Colossians 3:17 which teaches "and whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do ALL in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." I expect each student to be respectful in speech and attitude, to walk with integrity in what they do and say, and to practice diligence in all they set their hand to and completing what is required of them in their assignments.
We will have a wonderful, successful and memorable year together.
