·         Students do not have any books for their Cyber School classes. Their entire curriculum is located on the CCS server. They work directly on the server whether at school or at home. But before they can work at home, you will need to install the appropriate program materials onto your home computer. As soon as the disks arrive from the publisher, I will send them home with your student with appropriate directions.. Until that time, if they need study materials, I will be printing them here at school.

 

·         Students need a notebook for class as they are required to take notes for each subject. Please check at the end of each marking period to see if a new notebook is needed.

 

·         Of course, they need pens and pencils.

 

·         The computer has a calculator if they need one for math.

 

·         Each student needs a pair of earphones or earbuds. Some of the curriculum is audio. They often share these items, but I feel this is unsanitary. They should have earphones that they can just keep here in Cyber School for the year. You can get them in Staples for about $10. I do have some extra ones that belong to the school if there is an emergency.

 

·         It would be great if each student could bring in a box of tissues and a bottle of hand sanitizer. We are concerned at school with the warnings and precautions necessary for avoiding the swine flu this fall. These items would be very helpful! I will be wiping down the computers and tables and chairs each evening with disinfectant.

 

·         Students may only wear CCS sweatshirts, hoodies, or standardized dress sweaters in class. I am strict about this, so please have your student come prepared.

 

·         Each student needs an agenda in order to leave the classroom. This is true throughout the school. They may be purchased at the school business office (Mrs. Havens).

 

·         MLA Style sheet for the research paper. This may also be obtained at the school office.
