Learning Lab

Mr. David Hobbs, Principal
Mrs. Dawn Smith, Learning Lab Director

". . .so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us." from Romans 12

Meeting Educational Needs . . . One Student at a Time

God has blessed our students with different talents and abilities as well as strengths and weaknesses. CCS desires to minister to students with specials needs as well as students with special strengths. Our Learning Lab leads the way as we continue to reach out to our students in such areas. Currently our Learning Lab has several programs designed to meet the individual needs of our students.

Discovery Skills Learning Disability Program is designed to minister to students with average or better intellect, but who have a learning problem that hinders their performance. With close cooperation between a trained therapist and parental support at home, a program is designed to help the individual student. The therapy the students receive is designed to strengthen the student's area of weakness. There are required exercises at home with parental participation.

Enrichment and Tutorial Programs are designed to help students with remedial needs, students who are especially gifted in some area, or who are transitioning out of the Learning Disability Program. The student meets individually or in small groups to receive assistance based upon the student's individual need.

Search and Teach is designed as an early intervention program for students in kindergarten through second grade.

Compensatory Education is designed to help students who struggle in reading, language arts or math. Sessions are twice a week and the students meet in small groups.
