Summer at CCS

Summer Safari
Every day is a new adventure!

  • Flexible Scheduling.
  • Staffed by caring, certified teachers.

Summer Safari is open to children who have completed K4 through 5th grade. Students can be dropped off as early as 7:00 am and picked up as late as 5:30 pm. They may attend for the entire summer or for individual weeks. We also allow flexibility in the number of days per week that a student may attend.

The program includes an exciting variety of activities, especially between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Each week, students will go swimming, use computers, play sports, and enjoy a visit from the ice cream truck! Additional activities include Bible stories, music, arts and crafts, cooking, board games, and lots of other summer fun!

Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided. Bring a favorite sandwich, and the rest of lunch will also be provided.

Come journey with us on this expedition of summer fun!

Summer School

Cumberland Christian School will be offering a summer school program designed for students in grades 1-12. Only present CCS students or students enrolled for next year are eligible to participate. Students will be accepted based upon their special needs and the ability of the summer program to meet those needs.

Each student will have 6 hours of instruction in a normal 5-day week. Students may register for a maximum of two (2) subjects. The sessions will be held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from July 7 through July 30.  A schedule will be worked out for each student. The first session will begin at 8:45 and end at 10:30.  The second session will begin at 10:45 and end at 12:00.  The student will need to attend the sessions scheduled. There will also be homework that must be completed.  Students should register with the high school office by Wednesday, June 30, 2010.
The cost of the five weeks of instruction will be $335 per student, per subject. All textbooks and/or learning materials will be furnished by CCS.  The full fee must be paid before the first day of classes (Wednesday, July 7). If the student withdraws once instruction has begun, the total tuition will still be due CCS, as we will have already contracted and scheduled teaching staff.  To enroll contact the high school office for more information.
Please be alert to the following items:
  • A tardy of more than 10 minutes will count as an absence. Since there is not an excess of instructional time in this program, students must be here when scheduled.

  • A student must be regular in attendance. He/she may not miss more than two classes for any reason. Students should not miss any days due to vacation. Please schedule all family vacation during July to avoid any conflict. Students who do so, will not receive credit. No exceptions!

  • All work must be completed by the last class.

  • The student must apply himself/herself to doing homework or other assignments in a diligent and satisfactory manner.
